Perth Coastal Planning Strategy Community Engagement:

The Perth Coastal Planning Strategy is a key document for the future planning of our metropolitan coast. Brian was engaged to respond to a request by the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure for additional public consultation on the Perth Coastal Strategy to integrate work undertaken on Marina Planning with Network City along the Perth metropolitan coast. This involved a review of the draft coastal strategy to date, and marine facilities planning and close liaison on the preparation of presentation material. Brian designed and facilitated two workshops for the South and North metropolitan coast and provided advice on the completion of the oastal Strategy.

Woodman Point Wastewater Treatment Plant Community Liaison Committee:

Brian completed a review for the Water Corporation of community engagement into the approval processes and operations of the Woodman Point WWTP. The report made recommendations on a community engagement strategy and steps to make the Community Reference Group more effective.

Workshops on Community Engagement Practices in the Planning Minister’s Portfolio:

Brian was engaged by the Office of Citizens and Civics to undertake and facilitate two workshops for key staff in all the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure portfolio agencies involved in community engagement. The workshops reviewed current practice and identify strategies for improving capacity and learning between practitioners.

Brian organised and facilitated two major coastal planning workshops in Perth for north and south of the river.
Brian advised on a coummunity engagement strategy for Woodman Point WWTP.
