Visioning
Vincent Visioning:Brian was the DPI representative on the Vincent Visioning process that engaged the community in reviewing the Town Planning Scheme for the Town of Vincent. This process was one of the first to use such a technique, under the direction of Steven Ames from Portland, Oregon, for a review of a TPS and involved a wide range of engagement techniques with the local community. Town of Bassendean Vision 2030 Community Plan:Brian was advisor to the Town of Bassendean on their community Vision 2030 plan in which the Town worked with the community on establishing a vision consistent with the Network City Community Plan for Perth and Peel. Vision for the Cockburn Coast Dialogue:Brian was responsible for organising this “Dialogue” based on the 21st Century Town Meeting format developed in the USA to review the options for the twin towers site in New York after the 7-11 attack. He was the project consultant liaising with the DPI and the Minister’s Office to organize this community consultation process in May 2005 using computer technology for real-time responses on sustainable development proposals for the Coogee coast, and wrote up the final report. Rudds Gully, Cape Burney Workshop:Brian was engaged by DPI Geraldton office to facilitate a workshop for landowners, planners, environmental agencies, on the district structure planning for 13km2 of coastal land for urban development south of the Geraldton CBD. |
